GP Trainers Workshop
The National GP Trainers Workshop was held in the Tullamore Court Hotel on February 25th and 26th 2010. Conference organiser Dr Margaret O'Riordan was delighted with the largest attendance ever at this event. GP Trainers from all thirteen training programmes were present and feedback was extremely positive. Dr Gerry Wheeler and Dr Mary Sheehan presented a thought provoking workshop on "The Medicalisation of Normality". A practical session on using the core curriculum as a teaching aid presented by Dr Tony Lee, Ms Angela Byrne and Dr Margaret O'Riordan was well received. Dr Ailis Ni Riain presented a stimulating and original workshop on using patients as a teaching resource in training practices. Dr Austin O'Carroll and Dr Ming Rowat rounded off the meeting with a challenging and provocative session on Professionalism. Ms Niamh Killeen provided excellent conference organisation as always ably supported by Ms Deirdre Collins ICGP.
