ICGP Appointment: Head of Quality & Standards
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this new position of Head of Quality and Standards will have a key role in policy formulation and the implementation of ICGP strategy.
- Leadership/oversight role across the Postgraduate Resources of the College including the Training, Education, Professional Competence, Quality and Research functions.
- Leading, on behalf of the ICGP, all aspects of standards in clinical care.
- Responsibility for the continuous evaluation of all education programmes.
Essential Qualifications
- General medical practitioner included on the Specialist Registrar for General Practice with the Irish Medical Council.
- Membership of the ICGP or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in medical education, research and training.
It is desirable, but not essential, that the incumbent be currently in active general practice and will maintain a clinical capacity as a general practitioner.
Commitment and Duration
The commitment will be for a minimum of three days on site per week (6 sessions). The initial contract will be for three years, renewable subject to satisfactory outcomes and availability of resources.
