Healthcare Reform  - the ICGP Response
The ICGP response to the Report of the National Task Force on Medical Staffing (Hanly), the Commission on Financial Management and Control Systems in the Health Service (Brennan) and Audit of Structures and Functions in the Health System (Prospectus).

Also included is the case for General Practice and Primary Care reform. The current emphasis of the reform programme appears largely to focus on the Administrative and management structures, financial management systems and hospital services, to the exclusion of General Practice and Primary Care.

The ICGP believes that the development of General Practice and Primary Care are key components to the success of any health reform programme, bearing in mind that ninety percent of health care needs are met in this sector.
