ICGP/IMO Joint Conference: 26th April 2008
An ICGP/IMO Joint Conference took place on Saturday 26th April in the Conference Centre, Croke Park, Dublin 3. The theme of the meeting was Irish General Practice - The Capacity to Deliver and was well attended.
The conference was chaired by Professor Andrew Murphy from NUI Galway. It opened with a presentation from Dr Martin Daly on General Practice and its Capacity to Deliver, and ICGP Chairman Dr Mark Walsh on Professional Esteem. Dr Mark Walsh's presentation can be downloaded below.
Dr Mary Gray and Dr Shane McKeogh followed with a discussion on Models of Practice & Contracts and Dr Velma Harkins on Chronic Care Management. Dr Mary Grey, Dr Shane McKeogh and Dr Velma Harkins's presentations can be downloaded below.
A series of workshops were held on Manpower Planning for a New Era; Future Physical Infrastructure Provision ¿ How & Where; The Role of General Practice in a new Primary Care Structure and Competence Assurance & Advocacy under the Medical Practitioners Act 2006. A plenary session followed with feedback from workshops and discussion and then a closed session for general practitioners.
