Q. What if I do not have full registration with the Medical Council at the time of application?

A. If you are not currently registered with the Medical Council of Ireland you must apply for registration. For further details on this process see https://www.medicalcouncil.ie/Registration/.

On receipt of confirmation of your application for registration from the Medical Council you will be provided with a Medical Council reference number. This reference number will be accepted to proceed with your application for GP training once you have indicated that your application is pending.

Evidence of registration with the Medical Council i.e. a certified copy of Medical Council certificate of registration or registration letter will be requested at interview stage. It will be a matter for each applicant to follow up the application process with the Medical Council and to ensure that this documentation can be provided at interview.
