Training Grants

Changes to the current system of funding training grants was one of the main issues to arise from the Labour Court recommendation regarding the NCHD Contract. The LRC have recommended the "replacement of the current system of paying vouched training grants with arrangement whereby the HSE would directly provide appropriate training. This should be subject to the NCHD's having an appropriate level of autonomy in the selection of and participation in training." From a practical perspective, this means that only courses/conferences and examination fees on an agreed list will be funded. This list has been circulated to the training programmes.
