External CPD

Minimum 20 Credits per annum, 100 credits minimum per cycle

Definition

ICGP accredited educational activities and meetings outside the practice (not including travel time). The events calendar facility on our homepage enables you to view accredited meetings/courses on a monthly basis (please note this list is not conclusive).

Examples

• Small Group CPD Meetings: 2 credits per hour
• ICGP Courses/Conferences/Distance Learning*: 1 credit per hour
• Other Accredited Meetings/Courses/Conferences: 1 credit per hour
• International/national meetings

*Members can gain extra credits in internal CPD for practice based quality initiatives associated with diploma and other courses and in personal CPD for associated reading.

Criteria

1. Return summary sheets to the ICGP each January and retain a copy.
2. The summary may be audited at a later date. Keep for this purpose.
3. Minimum credits per annum in this category = 20, 100 credits minimum per cycle.
