Definition
Research: (From study design to publication including Masters or PhD theses). Note: general practitioners involved in research activities should apply for CPD accreditation to ICGP. Documentation describing research activities must be kept for audit purposes: up to 20 credits per annum.
Examining: ICGP examining: 20 credits per annum.
Postgraduate Training:
- Practice based GP Training, GP Specialist Training, Scheme Directorships and Assistant Directorships: 20 credits per annum.
- Visiting for Accreditation of Post-graduate Training and CME Schemes: up to 20 credits per annum.
ICGP Directors, Tutors and Fellows: Up to 20 credits per annum.
Criteria
- Return summary sheets to the ICGP each January and retain a copy.
- The summary may be audited at a later date, copy for this purpose.
- 2 Credits per annum desirable, 10 credits per cycle desirable.
*Medical council requirement is over a 5-year period
