CME Accreditation

CME Accreditation of External Meetings, Courses, Conference for GPs

The ICGP is the accrediting body for meetings/courses/conferences for GP's. ICGP CME accreditation refers to approved external educational activity for GP's for the purposes of Competence Assurance (CAS) under the Medical Council Specialist Division of the Register and GMS study leave.

To apply for CME accreditation please complete and return the application form for external providers (below) to maureen.dempsey@icgp.ie. Prior to submitting your application it is advisable to refer to current ICGP guidelines/procedures and policy document (below) as invalid applications will not be considered.

Valid applications are usually processed within 2-4 weeks and confirmation is then issued by email. In some instances applications may need to be considered by the Competence Assurance Sub-Committee which will prolong the process.
