LARC Update Course

Substance Misuse and Associated Health Problems Certificate Course

This course provides in-depth information on recent developments in diagnosis and management of substance misuse problems including alcohol, prescription drugs and illicit substances. Many of the skills acquired on this course (including communication and counselling skills) are applicable across a range of medical problems which may present in a range of clinical settings. MASTERCLASS SERIES (progression from e-learning modules)

The ICGP will be running a series of masterclasses this year in venues around the country to compliment the eLearning modules. Successful completion of a number of specified eLearning modules (usually four) will be a prerequisite for attendance at these masterclasses. A calendar outlining these requirements will be published well in advance. This will allow discussion at the masterclass to be at a higher level for those who wish to move their learning forward. Certificate in Contraception Practical Course

This intensive two day course covers all aspects of contraception in a small group discussion format with practical stations and simulated patients. It offers an alternative to attending the minimum six practical sessions with a contraception tutor, either in general practice or a family planning clinic to achieve satisfactory experience in this area for the final part of the Reproductive and Sexual Health (RSH) Contraception Certificate.
