Entry Requirements

This course in geriatrics is specifically designed for GPs who have been in active practice for some years. It is not suitable for trainees or for hospital based doctors.

- Prescribing for the Elderly
- Falls

Unit 2: Confussional States -
Acute and Chronic


- Delirium
- Dementia

Unit 3: Stroke

- Stroke
- Urinary Incontinence

Unit 4: Endocrinology

- Decubitus Ulcers
- Issues in Endocrinology

Unit 5: Hidden Disabilities

- Visual and Hearing Disabilities
- Clinical Abnormalities in the Elderly

 

What is the overall aim of the course?

To provide a relevant overview of clinical topics, which are specific to the practice of medicine and the elderly and to provide a logical approach to these topics which, is readily applicable in clinical practice. This is a one year course and is delivered through a combination of workshops and e-learning.
