The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety is a monthly, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to providing health professionals with the information they need to promote the quality and safety of health care.

According to Dr. David Baker, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, "Despite improvements in quality and safety, a gulf still remains between our current state and what is possible." Through the sharing of ideas and findings, the Journal aims to close this gulf, enabling health care practitioners to provide the best patient care possible.
