The ICGP is the body responsible for recognising educational events/activities for general practitioners for purposes of external continuing professional development (CPD) and GMS study leave.

To apply for recognition of educational events/activities for external CPD, please do the following:

  1. Refer to the guidelines and sponsorship policy, available in the documentation section.

  2. Register your practice or organisation.

  3. Complete an application form at least four weeks prior to your event.

Please note: We do not accept applications for events that have already occurred.

Valid applications are usually processed within a 2-4 week timeframe and confirmation is then issued by email. Applications requiring further details and possibly a review by the medical director and/or the Professional Competence Committee may take considerably longer.
