HSE public consultation for Major Trauma Centres and Trauma Units

Please find below the link to the HSE public consultation document - Draft - Service Specifications for Major Trauma Centres and Trauma Units nationally.

The College has been requested to provide feedback on the proposal by Mr Dean Sullivan, HSE Deputy Director General for Strategy.

This is an extremely important consultation document both for patients and members.

The draft proposals contain details on the planned two major trauma centres in Dublin and in Cork as well as the national geographical spread of the other trauma units and support services.

The plan will have implications for patients and GPs living in rural Ireland as well as in the major urban centres and cities.

To view the proposal please click here HSE Document.

As a matter of urgency please provide your feedback on the proposal as this will directly inform the College's response to the HSE.

The early February deadline given is short therefore, we ask you to please return your feedback and thoughts to us on or before February 1st .

Please use the FEEDBACK TEMPLATE provided at this link which contains the questions posed by the HSE.

I thank you in anticipation of your considered and timely response.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Tony Cox
