Irish College of General Practitioners to hold Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Termination of Pregnancy Services

The Irish College of General Practitioners, the professional and training body for general practice in Ireland, will hold an EGM of its members on Sunday December 2nd 2018, to enable detailed discussion of the provision of termination of pregnancy services by GPs.

The Board received a petition calling for an EGM to discuss the concerns of some members regarding the provision by GPs of abortion services. This petition, however, was not properly constituted, according to legal advice received by the Board members.

The College has written to all members this evening (Friday November 2nd), informing them of the EGM and the date it is being held. The time and venue of the meeting will be decided shortly.
