ICGP Membership

How do I become a member of the ICGP after I complete my training?

GP training schemes notify the ICGP of trainees that have been nominated for Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST). This nomination confirms that the trainee has successfully completed all modules of the GP training curriculum.

Trainees who are nominated for CSCST and have passed all modules of the MICGP Examination are automatically transferred to Membership of the ICGP. The Medical Council is notified by the ICGP of the trainees transition to full membership. This will only be provided on or after the formal date of training completion. There is no membership fee for the first year of membership.

What do I do if I complete my training outside the training year, i.e. July - July?

Trainees who complete training outside of this time should ensure that the training scheme notifies the ICGP of their nomination for CSCST.

Network of Establishing GPs (NEGs)

On completion of training, doctors will remain in the NEGS group for five years.
