As part of an overall review of ICGP education the college has updated LARC education for GPs and GP Trainees. The updated education will address the latest evidence base to ensure that patient care for LARC consultations & insertions is based on the most up-to-date clinical guidelines.
LARC Theory Course
The LARC Theory Course is available on-demand, accessible at your own convenience.
Topics covered include:
- Subdermal Implant & Progesterone Only Contraceptive Injection
- Intra-Uterine Devices (Copper & Levonorgestrel)
- Setting up a LARC Service in General Practice
Advanced Certificate in LARC - New & Experienced Inserters
The ICGP Advanced Certificate in LARC is available for GPs and GP Trainees interested in completing further LARC training. The application process for this certificate is now an online process. Postal and/or email applications will no longer be accepted. If you have an existing application underway, please contact womenshealth@icgp.ie
Tutors
You must ensure that your Tutor is an ICGP registered LARC Tutor by emailing womenshealth@icgp.ie before completing further LARC training.
