Medisec is sponsoring the 15th annual ICGP Quality and Safety in Practice Awards, which will be presented on 4th May 2019 at the ICGP Annual Conference in the Convention Centre, Dublin.
The 2018 winner of the award, Dr Diarmuid Quinlan of Woodview Family Doctors, in Cork presented his Quality improvement initiative: "Atrial Fibrillation and Stroke: ABCD of AF-Stroke Prevention in GP" at last year's conference. Previous winning projects originated from practice audits, GP training projects, or as novel 'ideas' from practice teams. Other previous winners of the awards can be accessed on the ICGP website.
The awards recognise improvements or innovations by healthcare professionals working in Irish General Practice. Clinical or practice management quality improvement initiatives, which demonstrate an improvement in the quality and safety of healthcare in practice are invited to submit. The award provides a unique platform to share the quality of care delivered by Irish General Practice.
Key elements sought in each submission include:
The awards will be presented to the highest ranked three entries. First place will be awarded a cash prize of €2,000 and the trophy. Second and third place will receive a prize of €500 each. Each of the three award winners will be required to present their entry at the ICGP Annual Conference. Other entrants will be invited to present a poster at the conference.
The deadline for receipt of entries is 5pm on Tuesday 19th March 2019.
