The guidance was developed in conjunction with Safeguarding Ireland, and was part-funded by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission under the Human Rights and Equality Grant Scheme 2017.
The guidance offers a common language and framework to describe a human rights-based approach to care and support for adults. It is a practical and accessible resource that outlines a way of working for frontline health and social care staff to assist them to uphold human rights in their work. The guidance will also help people using services to understand what they should expect from a service that is committed to respecting, protecting and promoting their human rights.
