HPSC and regional Departments of Public Health are investigating a number of cases of Salmonella infection in Irish residents recently returned from Medjugorje, Bosnia Herzegovina.
We are alerting you to the possibility of additional cases presenting to General Practice.
As you are aware symptoms of Salmonella include: diarrhoea, fever, nausea and headache
If possible please consider asking patients with symptoms suggestive of Salmonella about recent foreign travel.
