I have withdrawn from the Medical Council register, do I need to maintain PCS?

No, only doctors registered with the Irish Medical Council should enrol on a Professional Competence Scheme (PCS). If a doctor withdraws their name from the register voluntarily, they can still retain the title of 'Dr', engage in college or mentoring activities and be able to administer emergency aid in the event of an accident.

If you have withdrawn from the IMC register, please email and we will update your record accordingly.
