ICGP Professional Competence Scheme (PCS) Survey

ICGP seek feedback from members and enrolees on how the PCS enhances the quality of general practice and patient care.

As we approach the end of the eighth Professional Competence Scheme (PCS) year, ICGP are reviewing the current Scheme in order to make practical improvements to assist GPs with meeting their CPD requirements. To inform these improvements, we are requesting your feedback on how the PCS impacts the quality of general practice and patient care. The most efficient way for us to do this is via an online survey which you can complete by clicking the link below.

You can record completion of this survey for 2 internal CPD credits where you feel it is relevant to your practice.

Prior to completing the survey, we recommend that you review the following documents:

Formal information about the data you provide and how we will use it:

All data entered into the survey will be anonymised. When the research is complete, the data will be collated, analysed and deleted from the secure server. Findings from the survey will be used to update and improve CPD supports provided to GPs by ICGP. The findings will also inform representation to the Medical Council regarding PCS.

ICGP anticipates publishing the findings in a peer-reviewed paper as well as through Forum Journal and the website hence raising awareness of CPD engagement across the profession and the wider public.

NB: By choosing to participate in this survey, you are consenting to the use of your data as outlined above. This data will be retained on a secure server and for a short period will be held on a server located outside the EU. Data will only be held until the research is completed and it will then be deleted. If you have any further queries in relation to the survey, please contact Aoife McBride, Professional Competence Manager on professionalcompetence@icgp.ie
