MECC Audit Award

Have you undertaken an audit on lifestyle factors related to chronic disease in your practice? Making Every Contact Count (MECC) in terms of monitoring risk factors such as smoking, alcohol, exercise, BMI or blood pressure has been shown to be beneficial to patients. The award recognises improvements or innovations tackling any of these chronic disease risk factors. Key elements sought in each submission include:

  • Originality
  • Simplicity of design
  • Ease of implementation and ongoing use
  • Ease of application to other general practices within Ireland
  • Provides a solution to a common problem in General Practice
  • Evidence of benefits derived from the improvement or innovation
  • Evidence that the improvement or innovation makes an impact on practice, particularly patient wellbeing.

Completed application forms should be submitted electronically to research@icgp.ie by 11th October 2019.

To apply, please complete the attached form outlining the details of your audit and send it to research@icgp.ie by noon on 11th October 2019.

If you are shortlisted, you need to be available to present at a dedicated workshop at the ICGP Winter Meeting on 16th November 2019. The overall winner will be selected and announced on the day.
