Administrator - Centre for Education and Professional Competence 

The Role

This role will support the coordination and delivery of a range of activities within the ICGP Centre for Education and Professional Competence which provides a diverse range of continuing education for members. The successful candidate will be an accomplished multitasker who will be responsible for providing professional and efficient administrative support as designated. The College is entering an exciting time of change and development so the successful candidate will be flexible and capable of dealing with and managing change effectively.

Duration: Two Year Fixed Term

Time Commitment: Full-time, 35 hours per week with some out of hours work required

Location: The location of work will be ICGP, 4/5 Lincoln Place, Dublin 2. In accordance with public health guidance all College staff are currently working remotely. This situation is under regular review. It is envisaged that the role will initially involve a blend of home working and office work. This will be reviews in line with COVID-19 public health guidance and College policy

Reporting to: The Director of Strategic Development and Standards or nominee

Salary: Commensurate with relevant competencies and experience

Skills, Expertise and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and expertise:

  • A relevant Level 8 qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a comparable role with proven capability
  • Strong IT capability, in particular advanced MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills, and the ability to operate efficiently with multiple information systems
  • Experience of using a virtual learning platform – Moodle experience an advantage, including the set up and management of online courses with features such as discussion board, communications, assessments, and evaluations
  • Advanced operational skills in virtual meeting tools e.g., Zoom webinar, Zoom Educator, Microsoft Teams
  • Experience of organisation, administration and coordination of events, both on-line and in person
  • Strong writing skills with experience in drafting and preparing reports for diverse audiences, letters, presentations, collaborative documents, committee minutes
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills combined with sound judgement are required to facilitate work with a diverse range of individuals and groups
  • Proven organisation capability and high levels of personal effectiveness with the ability to handle a varied and diverse workload to meet deadlines while ensuing accuracy and attention to detail• Self-starter with high motivation and the ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team to achieved goals within agreed timeframes.
