Communication from Department of Health regarding Brexit negotiations and continuity of medicines supply

The College has received a formal communication from the Secretary General of the Department of Health regarding the Governments Brexit preparedness.

This communication discusses the possible healthcare impact of a no deal Brexit scenario. In particular, it addresses the concerns that exist about the continuity

of supply of medicines. The uncertainty that surrounds Brexit negotiations has caused anxiety for our patients regarding their continued access to essential medicines.

Mr Breslin's letter and the accompanying summary document offers detailed information and reassurances to doctors and patients about Irelands continuing work in preparing for a no deal Brexit.

I feel this matter is of interest to you and all our members.

Please find attached the notification from the Department of Health.
