In the Practice

GPs tend to work in isolation without the supports which exist for larger more structured business organisations. The ICGP has developed a range of projects and programmes to support its members in the practice.

ICGP Classifieds

GPs can advertise posts in their practice (short-term and long-term) FREE of charge to an ideal target audience of available highly qualified GPs throughout the country. GPs can also advertise their availability for work and searches can be done by location and/or special interests.

Establishing In Practice

The Network of Establishing GPs (NEGs) project is intended to support GPs in the early years of their career and to provide greater opportunities for establishing GPs to become involved in College affairs.

Management in Practice

The Management in Practice Programme provides general practitioners and practice managers with information, advice, training and consultancy on all aspects of management in the practice.

IT in the Practice

The GPIT Programme and computer network has been formed to provide support, training and advice to GPs with ICT issues.

Your Health: Health In Practice

The aim of the ICGP Health in Practice (HiP) Programme is to promote and maintain good physical health, occupational health and psychological health and well being for GPs and their families.

Quality in the Practice

The ICGP Quality in Practice Committee (a Subcommittee of the Education Committee) produces quick reference guides on clinical and non-clinical areas on topics of relevance to general practice. The Quality Committee also supervises the competition for the annual ICGP Quality Improvement Award (sponsored by the Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare).
