Are GPs discussing breastfeeding with expectant mothers during antenatal visits? - A survey of mothers on the postnatal ward

Author/Researcher: Niamh O'Brien

Objectives

This study aims to assess whether a group of postnatal mothers recall if infant feeding and particularly breastfeeding was discussed during their antenatal GP visits. Other related questions will include whether information provided was in verbal and/or printed form and what member(s) of the practice team provided the information. Further questions will address the demography of the study group, whether their GP is male or female and whether they would attend their GP with feeding-related questions after discharge from hospital.
