Cervical screening: knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of women in a West of Ireland General Practice

Description

To define, in demographic terms, a subset of women attending a West of Ireland general practice in a two-week period in October/November 2006 and examine their knowledge, beliefs and attitudes to cervical screening.

Objectives

The sample will be drawn from all consecutive female patients attending the practice during a two-week period who are eligible for cervical screening as defined by the Irish Cervical Screening Programme.
A self-administrated questionnaire has been compiled. This comprises demographic information about the women to be studied. Further multiple-choice questions follow regarding the knowledge, beliefs and attitudes of the women to cervical screening.
