Q. Our practice inkjet printer is giving trouble and needs replacement. Any advice on good models?

A. Inkjet printers are cheap to buy; the main cost is the recurrent high cost of ink cartridges. If you don't need colour printing then I would recommend you consider replacing your inkjet with a black and white laser printer. These are real workhorses and toner costs are much lower than inkjet cartridge costs for the same volume of printing. Good brands are HP, Brother, Canon, Dell and Lexmark. Talk to your hardware and software support companies to make sure the laser printer you consider is compatible with your operating system and your practice software system. Think about getting a networked printer so that any computer in the practice can print to it.
