Ensure that you have all the necessary information and documentation ready before you pay the application booking fee and start your application:
1. You will be asked for your GP experience
2. You will be asked for your post graduate experience
3. You will be asked to provide the names and contact details for 2 clinical referees.
4. Please answer all questions on the application form, ensuring all details are correct and thorough. Do not just provide one-word answers. Incomplete application forms will result in significant delays or your application not progressing.
5. Marks are awarded for submission of a fully completed application with all relevant supporting documentation.
Applications must be submitted online through the ICGP website. Applications or documents will not be accepted by any other route.
Step 1: Read the eligibility criteria (PDF, 90KB). Applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria to proceed.
Step 2: Review the application form questions (PDF, 140KB).
Step 3: Prepare the required documentation for uploading with your application. Please note all uploaded documents must be in PDF format. Uploaded files must be under 3MB in size.
Step 4: Set up an account on the Irish College of General Practitioners website.
Step 5: Pay the application fee. There is an application fee €100, to cover administration costs.
Step 6: Complete your application and submit.
