Required Documentation

  • Please ensure you have all your documentation on hand before paying the application fee.
  • The application fee and the online application should be completed at the same time. 

Before applying to and completing the application for the Non-EU programme, you must have the following documents in PDF format ready to upload. Uploaded documents must be under 3MB in size.

1. Copy of your passport information page

2. All your experience in chronological order, from the date you qualified (not just the past 3 years) – with most recent first. When completing the application:

  • a. Enter the correct dates
  • b. Enter full location details, role and duties for each position.
  • c. Employment letters to support your GP experience as entered on your application form to this email address noneuprogramme@igcp.ie. Letters should be on a letterhead containing company name, location, your employment duration, your role and duties. The letter should also be dated and signed.

3. Proof of medical indemnity for the three years in general practice. If you do not have medical indemnity certificates, your GP employment letter will suffice. 

4. All your post graduate experience in chronological order from the date you qualified – most recent first. Do not duplicate information from the GP experience section here. This is only for post graduate experience. Ensure you enter the correct dates. 

  • a. In the provided field on the online form, enter the full location and your specialty – you must have a least 4 months post graduate experience in internal/general medicine and paediatrics.
  • b. Send documentation proof to support your post graduate experience in internal / general medicine and paediatrics to this email address noneuprogramme@igcp.ie 

5. Letter of good standing from your medical indemnity organization (see point 3)

6. Certificate of your current registration at a medical council or regulatory body

7. Letter of good standing from this same medical council or regulatory body

8. You will be asked to provide the names and contact details for 2 clinical referees. a. Your nominated referees should be someone who worked with you in a senior role and provided oversight of your work.b. Your nominated referees should not be a colleague, friend or relative.

9. Irish Medical Council registration certificate (if you are not registered with the IMC, please confirm this in writing to noneuprogramme@icgp.ie)

10. A notarised copy of your medical degree, with English translation if required.

11. A notarised copy of their degree transcript, with English translation if required.

12. Evidence that you have achieved an overall band score of 7.0 or greater in the IELTS and minimum score of 6.5 in each of the four domains. The IELTS test taken must be 'Academic' and must have been completed within the last two years. Alternatively, OET: minimum B in all four domains.

** If you are registered with the IMC, you do not need to provide the documentation for points 10, 11 and 12 above.
Failure to provide the above information in full will lead to delays in processing your application, or, rejection of your application.
